I am 30 years old, am told I am beautiful and intelligent (by my unavailable male friends - typical!), and yet only seem to meet guys who are only after one thing. I am despairing of ever meeting that special guy. I have never met anyone through work, and clubs and pubs are generally not the place to meet guys (as my male friends like to remind me!). I don't want to be desperate and hang out at places that don't interest me, like sports events, in the hope that I meet someone. I haven't met anyone through courses that I have taken either. I have met men through friends but they have all married now. There just seems to be no eligible, unmarried guys around here, either that or I'm not looking hard enough. The unfortunate irony is, there are guys out there who hate to try to meet girls in pubs and clubs, and don't want to be sleasy (ie just jump on you the first chance they get). They're sitting around thinking 'how can I meet someone like you'. My recommendation is to focus on yourself: if you can do stuff that makes you feel good then your aura will be attractive and men will notice you. Then keep your eyes open and project friendliness, and conversations and situations will just happen.

i have found that i never had to go to a club or a social event to meet any of my boyfriends in the past, i was just being myself, doing the things i enjoy, i was not going out looking for them and as soon as i stopped chasing them i found that they started chasing me.
