If someone has said that they have some feelings for you, but they feel there is too much getting in the way (distance, family etc), is there any point trying to win them over, even if you really like them?

A female reader, Asked Angel United Kingdom +, writes (28 November 2008):

Asked Angel agony auntI suppose it depends how much you like them and if you really want it to work.

My partner and i were togther in secret for two years because he's family wouldn't approve.

It was hard but we made it work, he told his family and the accepted it eventually.

We are seven years on and very happy.

It breaks my heart to think that we nearly lost everything because in the end nothing else matters but me and him.

I hope this helps

xx
