I told a girl I like her and then we became close. But now if I say can we get together, she says she doesn't want it because she doesn't want to lose a good mate. How can I get her to see I'll always be there for her as a mate? And how can I get her to see that she should give it a try ?

A male reader, kenny United Kingdom +, writes (26 June 2007):

kenny agony auntDon't push things with her, keep seeing her as a good friend and be there for her when she needs you. Tell her how much you value your friendship with her and don't want to lose her as a friend. Keep this going for some time and who knows, something beautiful may materialise out of it in the end.

Good luck

flower girl agony auntIf she has made up her mind there might be no way of convinceing her to give it a try, plus how can you be sure yourself that you will always be there for her as a friend, if the relationship was to end badly you may never want to see each other again because that does happen.

Don't try to hard just carry on as you are and if it's meant to be it will happen.

Take care.xx.
