I stare at a bright computer all day. I'm a cashier and our store is extremely popular so I stare at the cash register for 5-6 hour straight. And the beach is bright so maybe that's why. This hasn't happened before I started working though. Thank you everyone.

Are those little dots and funny shape figures moving around? If yes then I really think that your seeing little particles beneath your eye lids or could be that you have an eye problem. Like the others said, check up with your doctor to see if everything is okay.

If you have always had this, it is normal for some people. I've seen patterns and colours in dark rooms or when i close my eyes ever since i can remember. For me, there is a correlation between sounds (fans, music, wind blowing etc.) and colors and patterns. For me, it is a benign condition called synesthesia. Basically, i can see sounds which is really cool. :-)

Hi there. It would be wise to first see your family doctor to ask him, in which case he will ask you a few questions and look into your eyes as well, for any abnormalities.
He will then discuss with you what it could be, and refer you on to see an eye specialist just to make absolutely sure it is nothing serious.
Don't delay in seeing your family doctor.
It might be nothing, however the longer you leave it to see your doctor, all you are going to do, is worry unnecessarily.
So for that reason, please DO NOT delay it even one day longer.
This is something ONLY doctor can sort out.

But also being in a brightly lit room or in the sun for long periods of time could cause it. I've noticed I see weird multi coloured patterns when I first close my eyes after they've been exposed to the sun for extended periods of time during the day. I think everyone would get variants of similar things so I'd say its nothing to worry about.

If you look at a light, it will leave a "ghost" and that part is normal. Does it go away after awhile? Does it usually happen when you rub your eyes?
When is the last time you went to an eye doctor? If you're concerned you need to have it checked out.
