writes: I am only 14 and I have started my periods and I am still a virgin, but the other day I got out of the bath and a was drying myself and I noticed I had a lump on the lip of my vagina. I know it sounds rude and disgusting but I need to tell someone because I don't know if it is cancer or a cyst or just a bump. But it is so painful and unky stuff keeps coming out of it.  I think its most likely a cyst, i had a few myself don't worry too much about it. but i believe you should see your gp about it..better to be safe then sorry.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2006): Well, you are not alone. From what you are describing, I had the excact same thing. I talked to my doctor about it and she told me that there are little glands down there that can get plugged up on occasion. It's nothing to be concerned about unless 1) it's changing colors or size, 2) dosen't go away after a week or 3) if you are sexually active.
If you are unsure, it's always better just to visit your doctor. Don't be scared...it's really great that you are looking out for your health.
