I'd try a fad diet as a starter and then change your exercise habits. Sitting around on your butt is what causes weight gain, not eating.

If you eat four or five smaller, heathy meals a day and take a thirty minute walk everyday, you will feel better and start losing weight in no time. You need to trick your metabolism into working harder by eating different types of foods at each meal and everyday.
Good Luck
And make it fun- not a burden- turn weight loss into a game; give youself points for every pound lost and you will reach your goal in no-time!

I go to the gym about 6 times per week I vary my exercise so I do yoga and kickboxing, dancing and workouts in the gym, Ive started losing about 2-3 pounds a week, and I feel fantasic this is what your doctor would probebly recommned although you wouldnt need to lose much because a size 12 sounds about average, this is the kindest thing you could do for your body the stars you see on the red carpet are not healthy there so thin its scary its like anorexia hun,
take care and be sencible

I'm on the Vince McMahon/Triple H diet... When you're hungry, you snack or eat a small snack about 8-12 times a day. No large meals, just anytime you get hungry, eat something small, like a small fruit salad for breakfast, or an open face turkey burger to end the day. You'll get everything that your body needs to work. This way, you can also eat as much chocolate as you want, because your metabolism will burn through it really quickly. Just nothing that will sit on your stomach all day. Don't eat large meals. This, combined with being active, whether it's walking, running, sex, or some other workout will increase your metabolism, and burn the fat.

And by diet do you mean "eating well" or "eating less?"You can be size 10 or 12 and be beautiful and feel great, by eating good food and exercise. But flab in the wrong places might indicate lack of good food (its not quantity but what it is, and exercise that are important. Before you diet (eat less) get a fitness assessment some gyms offer this free, keep a diary of what you eat for a week and then seek advice, and change what you eat but not necessarily reduce the quantity.I had a belly, but it was a picture of myself with multipal chin's that did it. I actually gained weight but lost the flab in the wrong places by just giving up my biscuit addiction and committing myself to a lunch-time swim. It took three months to get where I wanted to, but I've kept up the exercise and actually stayed the same weight, but a different distribution! People think I look great, but I'm happier that I feel so much better, with some much energy. Stay in the pool for 40 minutes and swim, it knacks you at first but after just a week you feel great. The right machines in the gym will do the same thing, perhaps faster. The pool has the advantage of hiding the body you might feel embarassed about, the gym fitness advisor will tell you honestly how it actually looks, and will work out a fitness program, whereas a friend or relative won't give you the truth. "Skinny" looks unwell (and is unattractive to most people male or female), "lean" with the right muscles looks good to everyone, and I don't mean the other extreme, just toned up. Screw the diet, eat for fitness, exercise and the body bueatiful appears...with a little work.Diets, slimming clubs, so called low calary food etc are an industry trying to make money out of you, "Gym's (sometimes). Take care, seek impartial health advice, and take control. Size 12 to size 6 dangerous.

I feel the same way as you! When I see music videos, movies, magazines, and etc. It makes me want to lose wieght and be more attractive. I see all of those pretty women. The best wieght loss technique is running and eating less. For example, drink plently of water, eat fruits, egg whites, chicken breasts, and veggies. This is my diet plan. I'm sure if you do the same you'll be on your way to a six 6. Email me if you want to talk more!

Speaking from a male point of view size 12 and 10 women are most definitely the most attrative. Trust me, size 6 is unrealistic, unhealthy, unnatural and unnatrative. No man likes a skeleton for a girlfriend who looks too thin and gaunt with her clothes hanging off her fragile, weak figure. If you wanna lose a bit of tummy or leg, then just cut down but I don't recommend going any lower than size 10, size 8 only fits people who are naturally that size or are quite short. I hope you reconsider your decision but skinny, is ugly. All the best.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 July 2007): The first thing when it comes to weight loss is to be realistic about your goals. Size 6 is not realistic at all. The second thing is to accept that you can not "quickly" loose weight if you want to keep the weight off long term. People who loose weight really quickly eventually put it back on, most put even more weight back on. Weight loss is part of a life-style change in which you change the type and quantity of the food you eat along with increasing how much exercise you do.
I agree with flower girl and would also say why not set yourself a target of size 10? This is realistic and there is no reason why you won't attain it whilst still eating properly.
Thinner does not mean more attractive.
I highly doubt you will be able to get to a size 6 without severely starving yourself. This will affect your brain chemistry and cause all sorts of problems, you'll very likely end up feeling even more depressed about your body than you are now. You also risk developing other problems that can cause long-term side effects. Is it really worth it?
If you are going to loose weight, do it sensibly. Don't make the same mistake as these few girls do in believing that skinnier means happier, because it certainly is not true.

You should be happy with the size that you are, size twelve is healthy.
I have also seen video's, infact it was an experiment by a celebrity who attempted to get down to size zero and it made her very ill, she lost her motivation and just felt generally drained.
I does not look good at all to look this skinny and i think you will find most men don't like to see women looking that skinny either.
I think if you are having thoughts like this then maybe you should go and see your doctor as you really do not want to end up with an eating disorder.
Take care of yourself.xx.
