What's the point of saying it if it isn't even true?

A female Australia age 26-29, anonymous writes:

The guy I am 'dating' I guess you would call it said 'Love ya 3 xxx'

when we were saying goodnight (we were texting)

Now I KNOW he doesn't love me, because we have only been dating for a short while I guess. So why bother syaing anything at all?

Especially if it is 'love ya'.

Like love ya is something I say to my close female friends or as a joke to friends.

So, why say 'love ya'?

I mean, what's the point?

So_Very_Confused agony auntsometimes saying Love ya when you get off the phone or a text is a natural statement. I got used to "love ya bye" with my now estranged hubby... it's very hard to not say "Love ya" when i sign off with Boyfriend.

it does not mean he loves you... it's just like saying "bye" but a bit more personal.
