The only way I know of is to finish the map of pills you're currently on and then stop.
So for example: of you have a map of 21 pills then you eat the 21 pills. Your period comes as usual during the one week that you don't eat the pills, but when the day comes for you to start on the next map of pills you just don't do it.

I've never heard of it being unhealthy to stop it immediately but if you have, you may want to check with your doctor first. Like I said, I have never heard of any harm in anyone just stopping, so my answer would be, yes, you can just discontinue using birth control.
