A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok so I need to know what is expected of a women when going to homecoming. I'm in the 9th grade and I'm 16 (yes I failed twice) but my girlfriend is 14 and homecoming is on October 10th and I need to know what all I am supposed to do. Should I take her out to eat, do i buy her a crisage, am I supposed to wear a tux. Thanks in advance for the advice.

9th grade prom... wow... everything you describe sounds like 12th grade prom to me... but it's been a few years. Is there a teacher that you trust that you can ask what the normal thing to do is? Flowers are ALWAYS nice for a woman, a tux might be overkill and for the same money you could likely buy a good looking outfit that you could wear more than once. Dinner is always good, but go some place fun and not so fancy that you two feel uncomfortable.

Be yourself, relax and enjoy. You only get to do this once!
