Career wise I should have picked IT far sooner, but then I would not have had a job at a bakery near my mothers house when she was sick with cancer and not have stopped home after work to do some shopping and chores when she died. My sister was away, I wasn't. I wasted years of life on a useless education and deadend career but perhaps the alternative would have left me far worse off.
That is the problem with changing your life, just what side-effects would there be.

I always wanted to be a high school math teacher. My guidance counselor at the time told me it was a bad profession as there were too many teachers. I wish I had followed my heart and been a teacher. It was my passion. So I would tell you to do what you love, the money will come.

Yea, it is easier said than done when you have no support, but I encourage all kids your age to go to college.
