How should I gain it back? i dont know the reason of him going away but i want him back I just cannot imagin anybody else in place of him. He is my childhood friend and we were dating since four years ago. He is afraid of his mother and is very pessimistic. What should I do to change his mind?  I was dating this guy and I was totally inlove with him. We dated for a while and knew each other for years. When I was dating him I knew I could be happy spending the rest of my life with him. Well he started to be a jerk and I had to break up with him cause he was making more problems in my life then he was making happiness. It was the hardest thing i have ever done because I knew I was in love with this boy but I knew he needed to grow up before we can continue a relationship. its now been 2 years. After the break up I cut him out of my life for a year and a half because I wanted to enjoy my life for a while and make sure he was the one. well he called me after a year and a half and we talked for hours. i realized then he is a amazing person but not the one for me. When ur with someone u change who u are. i was able to find myself and now I am really happy, even tho I am still single.I know its hard loosing someone u love but take this time to find urself. Find out what u really want, go on a few dates with guys you never would find interesting and make it a point to find 3 good things about them. you might realize u last love isnt what u really want. or u might realize he is the one for you. and after time if that is the case try to become friends with him again.

I know exactly how you feel, my love is also scared of his mother although I know her quite well, but didn't know that we were dating, because we grew up with each other since we were three and ever since we've always been close so she just thought we were really good friends. He couldn't even tell her that we were dating, cause I knew how she would react. But anyway lately he asked if we could be friends, considering of what have been through I couldn't let go. I don't know either why he decided to call it quits, cause he still treats like his girl even when we together. But you know what I do when we together. I understand what he tries to say to me, I listen and show kindness, but I let him know that I have let him go by my actions, when you love wants/needs to leave, just let him go.... if what you guys had was really for real, I promise you he'll come back, begging for you to take him back. You'll see. God won't take him permanently away from you, if you guys are meant to be. So I say focus what you have going for yourself and when you atleast expect it, he'll be knocking at your door and thats when your faith and love we'll be tested. Goodluck
