Honeypie agony auntWaxing is way more low maintenance then shaving.. The hair stays away for a lot longer and when they come back they are thinner.

If you don't mind the hair yourself, I would honestly just trim. Keep it short and neat.

There is NOTHING wrong with having pubic hair.

Atsweet1 agony auntKeep the hair! Its up for debate about transmission of ingrown hairs or any thing else.Especially in the area where you life force fluids and liquids are located. Really sacRed area but it depends on the skin of the people. Also if it is or becomes boils or carbucles another type of skin irritation then it possible to spread. I would just trim up with scissors that's what I choose cause I get ingrown hair even though Im not shaving at times. Tea tree oil works very well in that area for irritation.

person12345 agony auntThe spots aren't contagious, they are ingrown hairs, just small non-contagious skin infections. You can't pass them on.

It's clearly bothersome to you, just stop removing all your hair and keep it trimmed. We have it for a reason. It reduces friction, traps pheromones, and provides an extra physical barrier for pathogens.

I used to shave most of mine off, but then it got very bothersome and my boyfriend started getting rashes. Now I use an electric razor for that purpose and keep it trimmed. No more irritation.

So_Very_Confused agony auntI keep myself bare for me more than him but he likes it bare too... if you are getting spots (they are shaving irritation and not contagious) and he does not mind, is there any reason to just keep it neatly trimmed?

A reader, anonymous, writes (22 August 2012):

Relax, spots are just caused by irritation they're not contagious.

OP why are you shaving when your boyfriend says he doesn't mind?

Just do what me and my girlfriend do and trim them down tight but not just enough left so that it's not irritating you.

You could also try waxing.
