Sometimes I'm in agony for a week before I actually start my period, so is there anything I can do to encourage it come a little quicker?I've heard about exercise bringing them on, but I'm not sure this is true... Any advice or tips? Can anything put your period OFF coming, like, hot baths or something?Thank you so much :] any help would be really appreciated.

I agree that birth control would probably be your best bet.I have AWFUL cramps, to the point that for the first day or two I can't get out of bed. My doctor told me to take ibuprofen a few days before i start because it would reduce the swelling. i started doing that and it really made a difference.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 March 2008): i agree, when i first started, i constantly bled all the time. it really got me down and i was always depressed at school. i was always angry and emotional because of them. my mum noticed and asked me about it. i couldnt keep it in any longer so i told her everything. she took me to my gp and we got some pills. they really worked and regulated my periods.
also, if you are having a lot of pain, try some rasberry leaf tablets to ease it.

Birth control pills will regulate your periods. You should explain your problem to your mother or female adult relative. (you don't want them thinking you want to take it because you are having sex) Birth control pills do have side effects so make sure you discuss this with your doctor. Birth control pills will make your periods lighter and shorter.
