Yes, he's a total asshole, Darling. It's not you. Good Heavens, why are you putting up with this? I'd go on strike in the kitchen, laundry room and bedroom until he learns how to keep a civil tongue in his head. Don't get sad and worried, get pissed off and ANGRY at him. He deserves it.

 There's a very scientific name for his behaviour, and it's one of the disorders that has been recognised by the medical community (and others) for longer than almost any other problem.
He's an arsehole. (That's "asshole" if you are in the USA).
