What should I do about getting depressed when seeing other couples?

A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I feel depressed when I see other couples. I guess this is a weakness for me...dating or finding a gf. I feel jealous that I can't find a mate right now. I'm only 23, and the only gf I had pretty much broke up with me on prom back in high school. I've gone to bars/dance clubs, and have met some cute girls (in college as well). They actually came to me, but I still wasn't interested in them (long story why). I mean I can find a gf...it's a numbers game. I'm just confused and get down when I see couples my age. What should I do?
