What needs to happen? My friends say he's just nervous

Question - (21 February 2016) 2 Answers - (Newest, 22 February 2016)
A female Canada age 22-25, anonymous writes:

Hi!

Alright so here's the deal. I like a boy, and he has told me that he likes me as well.

However, he seems to have a funny way of showing it.

He rarely initiates conversations, we never seem to engage in any physical contact (whether it would be touching my arm while talking to me or hugging) and he just doesn't seem interested.

But when I initiate conversations with him, they are usually great and we can talk for hours and he seems happy.

I'm so incredibly confused.

My friends say he's just nervous, but I'm the one head over heels for him. Help?

aunt honesty agony auntHe has told you that he likes you so that is a good start. Boys at your age might not be to touchy feely. Plus maybe he doesn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. He might be nervous as your friends have said. Just take things slowly.

Honeypie agony auntMaybe you come of a bit too strong? Maybe he doesn't know how to handle it?

You are in the 13-15 age group so for some it might be something new and confusing.

IT can also be that... he doesn't like you QUITE as much as you like him. Or he really IS just nervous.

If I were you I'd dial it down a little. See if he will pick up the slack. If not, maybe this is a little one sided.
