Well, the excuse of "but I love him" is far to often used to ignore all warning signs that a relationship is going to end badly.
I think you make the two to extreme. Go with the heart but accept that falling in love with a homeless drug addict who beats you and sells you for dope is not that smart.

It's just as easy to love a rich man as it is a poor one. And I think it ends up being the luck of the draw, in other words, you love who you love. However you CHOOSE who you spend the rest of your life with, choose wisely.

if you want a life with holidays and treats more things to talk about then someone of higher education would be better. you cant say love or money as everyone would want both but yea just go with what your gut tells you and get with someone who gives you butterflies!
