I agree - I have rarely found that online meetings are of any real benefit when it comes to dating.
If he hasnt wanted to meet you yet I would ask him what the hesitation is or suggest meeting up for a coffee or something.
A friend of mine said 'We all have a story to tell, It's what we choose to share that makes us who we are.'
In other words - you really dont know anything more about this person than he has shared and that might not even be true - beware and do not meet him alone.

I would agree with the previous answer. You can't really get a true vibe from someone unless you meet them. It hasn't been too long so just give it time. Maybe he's hesitant because he's never met someone whom he met online before. Maybe he's nervous? Does he ever make mention of hanging out? If so put him on the spot and ask him what day would be best. This may be the push he needs. If he hasn't mentioned meeting I'd take everything with caution. Give it about a month and if you still haven't met him or if he hasn't made mention.. I'd forget it. I'm afraid at that point he's hiding something.
Good luck :)
