reader, anonymous, writes (7 May 2006): The BCG is an injection to prevent tuberculosis (tb) which is a disease, usually, of the lungs. Not all people need the injection, so a week or so prior, you have a 'test'. This is where you get a few tiny pin pricks on your forearm, (the instrument they use is about the size of a big pen from memory! which just clicks) if in a week the little pricks have turned into bumps, then no injection, if however, you have no bumps then you'll be given the injection :)
