 My view is that you are a very cautious person and had found no one suitable so far. There are many factors in determining what's good in a guy. If he's attractive and ambitious then it certainly helps. One question that would be asked about you is that if you didn't have any romance, what else have you been focusing on in your life? You can be in relationships with many women but with a new person everything is new, and you have to start from the beginning with each person. There are generalizations about what women want but being experienced does not necessarily give you the tools to make a certain woman happy. I would think that a beginner would have more zest to learn with fresh eyes. Indeed every one should look at each moment as new and exciting.

reader, anonymous, writes (16 April 2011): To be honest it actually builds up the woman's self esteem, if they know they have nothing to live up to then they won't feel pressured to do anything they don't want to do. For example, if a guy told his girlfriend he had been with hundreds of girls then she'd feel as thought she had something to prove and that if she said no to doing something he'd be disappointed. So a guy with no experience is a reassurance for the woman.
