Especially can someone please advisie on what is meant by "sweet" I am from continental Europe and wondered what definition was meant by this?I've been chatting to this girl at the gym for a few months. She is a fitness instructor and we have had a few training seessions together. We are both in our early 30's. She is single and I have recently split up from my g/f. On monday I decided to call her and ask her out. I probalby should have asked her face to face but I thought a telephone call would make it easier for both of us?She said that i was really sweet but that she has a busy schedule with her work and that she tries to keep her work and private life seperate. She kept saying how sweet it was that I asked her that I was really sweet and that maybe soon but then said she was really busy at the moment.Have been out of the game for a few years and maybe lacking in practice.

I guess it means that she doesn't take you serious.

She meant it was really lovely of you to ask her and you are a really nice guy.
She was reassuring you that she's not rejecting you because she doesn't like you, she thinks you are lovely, but she's just not in the market right now.
Carry on chatting to her and ask how work is, and she will let you know when she is ready to be asked out again.
If you have met someone else by that time then it's bad for her but that's the risk she's taking.
Good Luck!! xx

It means that you are firmly planted in the what we in the United States call the "friend zone".
Its a polite way of saying that she appreciates the flattery but she is looking for nothing more than a platonic friendship.
