Directly it means that neither of you is wasting any loving emotion on the other. So no love is used unprofitably. For more practical definitions see the other replies.
For a bit of advice on the side of your question. In laws frequently have differences. I had a situation at my business where the son of my male employee married the daughter of my female employee. One day the wife of the male employee came in to confront the female employee over grandparents rights to visit a sick grandchild. very ugly scene. More often a parent may feel that their child could have done better by marrying another partner. So that resentment can be targeted ant the in-laws. So to the advice I promised.
What most young couples need is time alone to bond and form their own family including traditions. They need some time away from both sets of parents. Occasionally they may need some support, that should be given in the most unintrusive way. As far as getting along with your sons' in-laws That can be mostly limited to births and birthdays. Time will solve most of it.

It means you two are not close friends and would not choose to have anything to do with each other if it was not for the shared grandchildren you will have.
it does mean one is bad mouthing the other.

It doesn't mean she has badmouthed you, it's just that everyone know you two don't like each other.

That usually means you both can't stand each other. It signifies a very strong dislike or hatred shared between two people.
