Fancy yourself as an agony aunt? Add your answer to this question! A
reader, anonymous, writes (2 July 2008): When she taps you on the shoulder and say: You are in love! (lol)
Now on a more serious note: When you are "in love" the brain is secreting endorphins which according to the Universal dictionary is described as: a group of hormone-like substances with pain killing and tranquillising properties that are secreted by the brain.
Thus when you are "in love" you will know, as it is a great feeling! The best "drug" to put you on a high!
YOu wil know, as you will not be yourself!
Good luck. Let us know when it "hits" you!

Love is when you're with someone that makes you feel happy about who you are and helps you forget about your insecurities. Love is when you can pick a hanging bugger from your partner's as if it was your own. Love is the feeling of war,th and comfort you get when you're watching your partner sleep peacefully while their heart beats in together with yours and even their morning breathe doesn't irritate your nose. Love is when you're sick and your partner tries to take a day off from work with no pay to take care of you but is denied but calls every 10 seconds to make sure that you're okay. Love is the way you see to fit perfectly in their arms when you cuddle or lye face down on their chest or tummy. Love is the way you finish eachother's senteces because in a sense you both complete one another. And love is the way you feel when you find out that the "love" you had before wasn't because your partner shows you how love really works.

When all of sudden you realize that until now you weren't really alive.
When even the smallest contact makes the world better.
When you suddenly understand why people got pictures of their loved ones on their desk.
In short, when your brain packs up and your heart moves in.

It's very hard to know if you're in love with someone for real. Like Mr. no issues said, read all about it. Even if poetry and love novels aren't your things still have a read of it, even if they're short. Listen to some love-rock or pop. Albums talking about "bitches" doesn't help.
If you really like a person and miss them when they're away, get butterflies for them (internal type), can't stop thinking about them coud be a sign of falling in love.
If you're with this certain person and you cuddle up and just don't want to let go of them and feel closer each time you meet, that could be another sign.
Love is very complicated I'm afraid. I still haven't figured it out. Maybe because love is blind?

Knowing when you're in love is tricky and requires a lot of research into the massive body of artistic work which our civilization and others have produced on the subject. You must:- read love poetry, of which a not inconsiderable amount has been written over the past 5 thousand years- read tales of love and romance, which come in forms as diverse as ancient epic poetry, modern novels, and experimental internet writing- listen to pop music, which has been asking the exact same question you are now posing for at least as long as there have been recordings of itIf after all of that you still don't know, you are at least as wise in your ignorance as the best of us.
