A guy i've known for a year is like this... when i speak he puts his head down and seems to listen intensively to what i'm saying and he'll never interupt me, but his response will always be very brief if anything at all! for example he might just laugh a little or make a small comment. He comes across as such a confident person so why is he so quiet around me? and i've also found that when he's with me AND my friends, he doesnt actually speak to me, he'll mostly just take a few glances at me and listen to what i have to say. Can you make any sense out of this? any responses will be much appreciated! Reply to this Question Share |

Its sounds as though the only person you should be asking is this man! Do you want something more from him? Because often with shy men if you dont ask, you won't get! If he is seemingly confident around everyone but you it could be that he feels in some way intimidated by you, and possibly because he wants to gain your respect and values your opinion he is over-thinking or constraining his own personality. Maybe he doesnt want you to think ill of him. If he keeps spending time with you of his own accord then it is likely that he enjoys your company and needs to just relax. Try looking him straight in the eye and asking him his opinion on the topic of conversation, forcing him to open to you.
