 I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I text someone who feels the need to use exclamation marks all the time so her texts won't be plain. It could be a habit of your friend's or it could be something else. But focus more on what happens in person rather than the texts. Exclamation marks could mean anything, so don't make a big deal out of it.
