What does it mean when a girl starts calling you "honey?"

Hi,

I've been getting close to this girl, but I wouldn't call it a relationship just yet. She was sick a few weeks ago, and I was nice and offered her water and to carry her stuff. She was very happy and thanked me.

Since then, she has started calling me "honey." Does this really mean anything?

I would think it is an indication that she is relaxed, at ease and comfortable with you. Yes, I would think that she is not calling everybody that and it could be a very diplomatic gesture from her side that she is getting closer to you too.
