I kind of get the vibe that he likes me back and he's just shy, but I'm not 100% sure. Here we go:Well, we know eachother through the high school swim team. He used to swim on a year round team with my sister, who is a freshman in college, and I guess they were sort of (but definently not great) friends. She never mentioned him, so I really didn't know who he was. Anyway, he quit the year-round swim team and now he swims the high school practice. I really don't know him all that well and I didn't really think much of him when I first met him.Anyway, I always thought he was just really friendly. Even though we almost never talked, he always smiled and said hello to me in the halls. I never saw him first, and now that I think about it, maybe he kind of planned saying hi to me. I mean, if I really liked some guy, I would always say hi to him in the halls and make sure I get his attention. Maybe he did the same. Either that, or he's just really friendly.Ok so that was kind of the deal for the first couple of months of school. But last week, it all changed. At a swim meet, he came to sit next to me on the bleachers and he just stared and smiled at me. I turned to him and said "what?" and he replied after a few seconds, "You just look so much like your sister." I didn't think anything of it. But a minute later he was staring and smiling at me again. This time I said "What? Why do you keep doing that?" And he just replied again after a few seconds. "Sorry- you just look just like her." I was a little confused, but again I really didn't think much of it. Then he asked, "Do you look like any of your other sisters?" I replied, "I don't know, maybe." And all this time he's just staring at me, smiling this big smile. Anyway, I think he was a little embarrassed after that, so he stopped. And that was it for that night. I thought that either he liked my sister and missed her, or he liked me and he thought he could only talk about my sister because it's the only thing we have in common. Either way, he suddenly seemed very interesting.Well after that I couldn't help but consider that he liked me. I mean, it was so obvious. And I started to think of him in that way. Once I know someone likes me, I immediately decide whether or not I like them back, just in case they ask me out, I guess. And I decided I liked him. A lot.So recently at swim practice, I've been keeping my eye on him. We swim on opposite sides of the pool, so I cant really talk to him during practice. Before practice, he's the last one to get ready, so I'm in the pool before he's out of the locker room. After practice, he's the first one gone. He doesn't seem very social. So this made me think that maybe he's not so friendly after all.Another thing, he's not as friendly to me in the halls anymore. We've changed schedules since last semester, so we only pass each other once a day and in a different spot. And of course I've noticed that we pass each other, but I'm too shy to say hi to him first, and I don't think he realizes that I pass him going on this route- he seems to not pay attention to whats going on around him.We have another swim meet coming up soon, and I really want to talk to him some more and get a better read of his feelings for me. I really need to talk to him at this one because it's the last meet of the season, so I wont see him enough to talk to him that much anymore this year. And next year, he's off to college.Ok that's all I have to tell you. So what are your thoughts on whether or not he likes me? And what should I try to talk to him about at the next swim meet? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

well your question is very interesting. and when i like a girl i usually will see if shes the one to say hi to me before i go in and say it and if she does then ill start to say it first and it seems like that's what is happening here. and i also look at a girl and until she looks at me and pretend like I'm looking past her but here he kinda is staring at you completely. so i mean maybe he really likes you. i think you should probably wait for him to ask you though because i mean not to pull a gender card or anything but a 16 female asking out a older male. just seems sketchy
