writes: Hello , me and my boyfriend recently broke up . we both dicided that it ws best not to go out any more .the probem is that lots of people are saying that i dumped him by text and that i was really harsh and all but the truth is , he was just as much a part of it as i was ! i am very worried about going back to my youth club becuase all the boys there are good friends with him and will probally hate me for upsetting him , eventhough me and my boyfriend are still mates ! what shall i say to the people at youth club without emabarrasing my self or him ?? help !! thanks x

reader, anonymous, writes (1 September 2009): I have to be honest with you, the rumor and the fact that all the boys are his friends are two things that are going to channel all the blame towards you. What you have to realize is that at the end of the day, this is you and ex's business and you really don't have to tell anyone WHY you broke up because it's personal. All you really have to explain is that it was a MUTUAL AGREEMENT because that is the truth.
And don't worry, I'm in high school and I can testify that rumors are a bitch. The problem is, people who don't have anything to talk about end up holding conversations about other people and the stories get twisted into some freak's ideal scenario. JUST DON'T PAY YEM NO MIND
