Ok here is the deal-

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year. His best friend (we will call her Stacy) Stacy and him were best friends in middle school lost touch from high school to college and have now in their late twenties reconnected and became friends. They were friends for about 2 years before I came along. I'm 6 years younger than them in age. Stacy and I can't seem to get along. She always talks down to me about my schooling or life choices in a "I remember when I was your age" kind of tone a grandmother would use. She has also made offensive remarks behind my back to my boyfriend about a recent medical issue I have been dealing with.

I've tried to talk to my boyfriend about her and my frustrations and he agrees. However; the situation never goes away. She comes over once a week for dinner and I lock myself in our room because I can't stand to be in the same room with her. I've tried to talk to her about it and she refuses that she is like that and my boyfriend won't seem to do anything about it. What should I do?

She doesn't respect you. As far as she is concerned your just a passing faze. You need to asert yourself. Tell her that you will not put up with her snide remarks and if she has a problem with you to say it. That way you get everything out on the table. Dont be rude about it though. Do not run and hide in your room from her she see this as weakness on your part.
