Remember Johnny Lang? (The guy that plays a Telecaster... he was this kid but he sings like a 50-year old guy)
He sings a song called "Irish Angel" and he's American. I saw him sing this on Austin City Limits.

I don't know any girls from Ireland, but have a few friends from there (I just get on better with guys, regardless of nationality)... all the guys I know from there are nice and sweet. I would like to have been Irish, or Spanish, or Mexican :-) I think I would fit into the culture.

I dated an Irish girl for a few years and she was anything but conservative and quiet. She was one of the most outgoing, silly, hyperactive, and indeed liberal people I've known. I'm fairly sure that Irish, American, British, German, Chinese, whatever... people come in all shapes and sizes and styles.
She DID follow the stereotype of a huge family that's diehard Catholic, and it was a bit of an adjustment for me to get used to that much family, but people are just people and whether my next girlfriend is Irish or not, I don't think that's going to be the deciding factor.
