What can we do to celebrate when boyfriend has busted his ankle?

So my partner plays AFL and he has done damage to his left ankle (AGAIN!). Unfortunely this is bad timing as out one year anniversary is coming up on Monday the 19th and we were planning on swimming with dolphins that afternoon then go back to my place to cook dinner together. Until we can retake the X-rays and find out what damage has been done, he has been put in a cast (it only covers his lower leg, he still can bend his knee) and he is on crutches so he can't get his cast wet. I've been so looking forward to our one year and would still really love to do something fun but I don't know what we can do with his ankle busted.

Could you guys help me?! I'm stuck! I've only got 5 days to salvage this. I need ideas!

Thank you for your replies, in advance :) I appreciate it!

So_Very_Confused agony auntWow so plan to push him in a wheelchair around a park or something then go home and cook dinner.

sometimes you have to alter your plans. Be flexible.

as a mobility limited person rarely do our celebrations include much more than a lovely walk about and a dinner out... we go home and celebrate privately later on....

Perhaps the best idea is to postpone your true celebrations until he is out of his cast - then you can still stick to the wonderful idea of swimming with those precious dolphins, and the commemorative dinner.

Alternatively, have the special dinner, and leave out the action man swimming for another date when he is ready.

If he isn't in too much pain, and can get around, you could consider something like a play at the theatre where you will be entertained and forget his leg; and can keep the ticket as a souvenier of your 1 year? Any show really, but not a rock concert as he can't dance and jump yet ;-)

Otherwise something like your local planetarium where you can sit for an hour during a guided tour, and enjoy being part of this wonderful galaxy we live in.

Think of what both of you enjoy the most, and do something that is totally you two, as that is what means most, just with the added special date of 1 year.

Congrats and enjoy it :)

It's about the journey not the destination, remember :)
