What can I do to see if he likes me?

Hello. Im gona try to be as short as possible. There s this boy(same grade,age as me ) at school that i like but he doesnt know yet. Thing is..most of the time when i look at him, his eyes are already looking at me. Usualy he will be smiling, i dont know why then i would immediately change my eyes direction. I still remember the last time a certain (two years older than me) guy who s also from my school did the same thing as this recent 1 s doing. I ended up telling him how i felt about him and he said he didnt feel the same way but im an amazing gal (i was hurt), but acted cool. Anyway I dont know what could this mean because i already like him(and i dont want what happened before to happen again), what can i do inorder to see if he likes me or not?
