 The only way you will find out if he likes you is by asking him. Girls can ask boys out and as your friends said he doesnt hate you, so there is a chance.Pull him aside and ask him out. If he says no your still young and can find someone else

 Why do think he hates you?, your friends say he dosen't so listen to them. If you really like him i don't think you should forget about him, however if you are waiting for him to ask you out you could be waiting along time. In this day and age it does not look out of place for a girl to make a move on a boy, why don't you ask him if he fancies doing something one time.
