ok so i know this isn't a relationship question but seeing as how you guys help me with everything else i thought I'd give it a shot. I am having sleep issues. for example when i lay down to go to sleep at night it takes me about 3 hours to fall asleep. last night i was up until 4am! and to top it all off i have to get up at 6am everyday. i am tired all the time and i look like hell. does anyone else have this problem? and what can i do about it without having to go see a doctor?

i have the same damn problem! I didn't fall asleep till 6 am last night and i was wide awake at 8:30, just over 2 hours later.

It seems to happen whenever things are seriously troubling me, which comes in long stages. It could be a day or two or it could be months. I like what one person on here wrote:

"One thing insomniacs have in common is racing thoughts or fixating on a thought to the point where you can't turn it off in order to wind down."

It's so unbelievably true. You can't wind down.

My old roommate had this problem for years. They put him on all sorts of drugs and it only exacerbated the problem. He found that talking regularly to a psychiatrist was the best medicine. They can help you get your life organized, and that is the fastest way to become comfortable with yourself! And thus the fastest way to fall asleep.

i have sleep issues too. Cant get to sleep usually before midnight.

I have found that its usually because I wasnt active enough during the day or Ive had too much caffene(coca cola).

Perhaps your bothered by something. Learn to relax, meditation is good. Finally see your doctor to make sure your ok.
