I have joined my local sport team and the guys seem like a laugh, a good atmosphere. The problem I have is I get so little playing time.

Some of the players are awful and the coaches have even said it when I've on the sidelines with them.

Im introverted and prefer to stick to myself and leave after the game most of the time, so Im not in the clique of the team. The quality of play isnt great and I'm better than 3/4 of the team yet still not much game time, even when they don't train or play well.

I want to stay but little game time is really pissing me off. Its almost the end of the season so I've waited for some time. What can are my options from here?

Honeypie agony auntFinish the season out and find a new team. If this team rather have bad players who are "popular" playing than better player who are quieter then that is the preference.

Not much point in staying after the season ends.

I would suggest that you DO try and socialize a bit when you join a new team, even if you are more of a solitary person. It helps build a team if they also mesh socially. Even a more quiet person can socialize.

Fatherly Advice agony auntThere is a world of difference between being a bench warmer and being a player. I've done both. I played American football with an undersized team. The stars played both offence and defence. The Also rans were the training squad. The stars treated us like crap. Always taking cheap shots in practice and pulling stunts that would get them trounced in a game. Honestly in your position you have two choices. You can walk off the team today. Or You can apply to a different team for next season. You will look like less of a whiner if you wait till the end of the season. Me I regret not having the satisfaction of walking off the team mid season, even in the middle of the last game. The constant put downs even from the coaches were just too much.
