writes: My best friend's birthday is coming soon, and i have no idea what to get her! she is the kind of person that doesn't like to talk about herself...so i need some ideas. she is turning 16 so her birthday is pretty special...also she wants to become an actress/singer...her parents aren't getting her anything for her birthday this year because last year 2 days after her 15th birthday they gave her her present without asking her if she wanted it early...so its up to me to make it special...but im not allowed to spend a lot of $ so it has to be special but inexpensive...btw not jewelry she has too much already!

Make it personal to her, so that it shows that you care. Involve something that she likes, maybe a logo of her favourite band on something, or something she is interested in. Maybe get a nice photo of the both of you and buy a photo frame with friends on it and give her that. There are plenty of cheap presents you could get. Why not hit the shops some day and just have a look.

Bake her a really nice cake maybe? Or make her a scrapbook full of memories of your friendship? Sometimes the best presents don't need to be bought from a shop :) For my 18th, 2 of my friends made me a giant scrapbook filled with photos, quotes and memories and it was one of my best birthday presents :)
