I have always been prone to getting a cold sore every year or so but not very often. I gave him alot of oral while we were together but i was always careful not to kiss or anything when I had these cold sores, i felt really embarrassed with them and always used the creams to get rid of them quick. We came back together a couple of weeks ago and started sleeping together again and he confessed an old lover of about 6 years ago gave him herpes on his genitals, but he'd never had a repeated infection. We didn't use condoms after a while last year and now I wonder if all those cold sores could have been bought on by him even though he hasn't had any signs of infection since that one time 6 years ago. Is it possible last years excessive cold sores were caused by him and what chance have i got of developing herpes down below? I have no signs so far. What are the facts here?

I do know that cold sores/herpes are linked are are hugely contagious...I would go to the doctor personally, it's better to find out for sure than wonder...Do a Google search and gather a little bit of research on herpes...
