 Have you tried bed and breakfasts these are actually suprisingly cheaper. You sound like one of my friends that has the same problem with the boys she relly likes. He has a car and comes down to visit her for a day once a month as for the other times they talk to each other and go on web cam. this is all i can think of as it is a tricky one! how far from your does he live??
