A female reader, jamiexox United Kingdom +, writes (9 December 2007):

jamiexox agony auntooo this is a tough situation for anyone to be in... but really you cant do much this is something that she needs to decide for herself, she is the one in the long term relationship and has children involved too.. i know it seems hard but all you can do is sit and wait!!!

the only thing i can suggest is maybe tell her that if she does decide to end her relationship and you r willing to be there for her and her children that might ease her concerns as with being brought up with only my mum around she always worries about dateing men and telling them she has two daughters as she thinks it will scare them off..

its a waiting game you have to play, if she tells you that she wants her relationship to end and be with you it could take sometime for her to do.. good luck with everything
