I agree 14 days after your period however, you actually need to know when that is to "schedule" it.
I know that extremely thin people or people that have some kind of eating disorder have problems falling pregrant and dont have regular menstrual cycles. There must be a good explanation if you dont fall into either catagory why you dont have a regular period.
My best advice would be to go and seek advice from another doctor since your doctor doesnt seem too interested. You need to find out why you dont have a regular period before you can find out the best time to conceive.
Good luck and let us know when you are successfull!

The best time to get pregnant is 14 days after the start of your last period. But if yours are all messed up, it will be hard to see when is the best time to conceieve. You need to see a doctor to see why this is happening to you and to work out how you are going to get pregnant. Maybe there's something they can do for you to sort your periods out then you can start trying for a baby.
If your doctor seems like he's not bothered, ask him you want to see a specialist.
Good luck

The advice given to most couples trying to conceive is to try for a year before seeking medical help. It is not uncommon for it to take this long to become pregnant.Generally, you are most likely to succeed in becoming pregnant around the time that you ovulate. This is typically 10-12 days after your period ends but you can now buy ovulation testers that can help you in finding the right time if your period is irrelgular.May I suggest trying a different doctor? Birth control does not sound like the answer if you are trying to have a baby! It can take months for your optimum fertility levels have returned once coming off the pill.Do you know if the doctor considered polycystic ovary sydrome when you and your husband were checked out? I'm no medic but common symptoms of this are irregular periods and problems conceiving.Hope this helpsBest of luck
