We broke up, I still love her and people are saying really mean things

hi im 15 and i was in a 2 year relationship. it had its ups and downs but we made it this far untill a couple nights ago. heres the story ill make it short. my gf and i were textin one night and all the sudden she asked why i hated her ex. i said: cause of the things he does (smokin and drinkin alot). her: well hell if you hate him for those things you should hate me too (i know she drinks but i didnt know she smoked) me: what? her: i smoke. me: what???? her: weed what else. me: now i meant that like what im shocked. her: oh okay then. me: i need some space to think. her: i understand well have fun thinking bye. i love you. me: i love you too. bye. theres alot more but thats short and a day later we realized it wasnt guna work so well she broke up with me. my gf told her lil sis and her sis told just about every1 and now all my friends keep sayin my gf (well ex) is a stupid bi**h, they hope she dies, ect... and i dont think shes stupid and i still love her (she claims she doesnt love me anymore :'( )anyway i defend her all the time no matter what. am i doin the right thing??? and how do i make my friends and ppl i dont even know stop cause if they dont im prbly just guna beat them up except prbly not???? help please.
