We broke something that didn't need fixing...and now our relationship is over. Why do I feel so numb?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My relationship was not broken; it was good, with minor issues, such small issues they should have never been argued over. My boyfriend broke our relationship along with my heart. He was very angry and his nature is very stubborn. Unlike other times, I am not trying to fix it this time. He said the words "we're over" and I feel betrayed. Believe me when I tell you, I laid my heart on the line and I gave it all. I know him so well, that IF he ever realized the mistake he's made, he wouldn't even try to fix it because of his stubbornness. Why do I feel numb and no wants in fixing what’s not broken?
