A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I have had this friend for say over a year now and we used to talk often i always had a soft spot for him because he was sweet and caring although i never met him in RL. but this last month we have been talking more often i mean like sometimes we talk for hours a night before it was maybe one or two but now its more like 4 or 5. we both discovered we really like each other and were in no rush. but then this morning he turned round and said maybe it was a mistake to consider it and he doesnt think hes ready for a relationship.

now im numb and not sure what to think do or say. i know their is nothing realistic about it yet but im shocked that i feel numb about it. perhaps he had more of an affect on me than i realised. and now im not sure what to think or do i feel like im in a numb limbo land. what do you think i should say or do to shed some light on this problem? his ex over 3 years ago left him for another family member so it left him pretty hurt and i have a bad past too with exs so were on common ground/

i really like this guy but dont know why he sundenly after saying he was so happy that we liked each other to stopping the coach and throwing me off! have you been in a situation like this and what did you do ?

Sorry this happened to you.
