I honestly don't know what I should do. My family is having a huge surprise party for my sister right after she gets engaged (she doesn't know that we all know) and I want to be there to support her and see her reaction and to be there for all of the excitement. On the other hand, I've had this trip booked for awhile and was so looking forward to visiting my friend. I honestly don't know what to do and would love some advice from people who aren't my family/friends so that's why I came here. Thanks!

I agree, be there for your sister's happy moment. Your friends will understand.

Hopefully your sister only gets engaged once, ... where as you can visit your friend another time.
Once if a lifetime situation, ... vs ... could happen at another time situation.
I know it must suck to choose when you ahve planned and looked fwd to the trip, ...but you can never get her engaement party back, ... there can be other weekends.
