We decided the best thing to do is remain friends but there are many mixed sgnals as we both tell each other about other people we may like but we still act as if we still like each other, i dont get jealous but i know i like him.

 Well if you both have feelings and are both acting the same way, maybe you need to just tell him. If you know he likes you and you like him, then its only going to eat away at you. If you really cant stand him being with someone else, and hes the same with you , then maybe you are destined to be together, but you wont know this unless you try! Unfortunately its harder to go back to being friends afterwards, but maybe that isnt enough for either of you... Maybe you need to be more than friends, but wont know until its too late, maybe give it a shot and see how things pan out, you could lose the friendship anyway if your both feeling cross at one another for liking someone else!
