But the pain actually woke me up, I had to check my stomach because I honestly thought I'd been stabbed. I tried curling up tight but it didnt make any difference so I ran downstairs for painkillers. I was on my period, is this period cramps? I've never had cramps before, I only get backache and a general ache in my stomach. But this pain was extreme, like something had stabbed my ovaries or something. OUCH? Any idea what the hell it was? x

This is indeed how extreme cramps may feel. I'm sorry you have to go through this at such a young age. I was in my late 20's when I first started experiencing severe cramping like yours. Never felt a thing before that. The one thing I can swear by is a hot pack or those self heating thermo patches. Just peel and stick to your lower tummy. Heat offers a major relief.
Advice is one thing but most important thing you can do is to be sure and seek a medical opinion from you doctor.

I've had some doozies, but could've been something else -- like a cyst on your ovaries, an appendicitis attack or a number of other things that could develop into something serious. If nothing else, your doctor may have some good remedies that will help relieve the intense pain next month.

Sounds like normal cramps to me. Things you can do to relieve them is to take painkillers like paracetamol or cocodamol if theyre really bad and use a hot water bottle on your stomach to soothe them.

Sounds like cramps to me but if you experience this every month you should mention it to your doctor. Have you told your mom? She might have the same thing everyone is different but sometimes bad cramps will run in a family.
