Was this breakup just a rash decision? Might he change his mind about breaking up?

Question - (30 June 2015) 1 Answers - (Newest, 1 July 2015)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Last night my boyfriend of 4 years and I had an argument and he broke up with me. Then he texted and said he loves me, etc.

But i haven't heard from him today. We have a great relationship 95% of them time and when we argue he sometimes makes rash statements and decisions like last night.

I do not want to break up. What should I do?

(I'm 33 and he's 38)

Honeypie agony auntWhat should you do?

Not much you CAN do, they guy broke up with you.

If he can't handle disagreements and DUMP you every time you two have one... you might as well date a yo-yo.

I get that you don't WANT it to have ended, but personally, I'd cut the contact and focus on moving on.

I think if this happens often (the dumping you) it's pure manipulation to get you to tow the line.

IF this is the first time... I'd step back, give him some space, but I would NOT be the first one to reach out.

I think the text about how he loves you is rather irrelevant if he can't DEAL with the issue at hand (which would be to FIND a solution you can both agree on, instead of running away from the problem)
