Was I right to set my depressed friend up with a girl who liked me?

so i'll tell you the story first, then the question. well i went out with this girl and she had some fun, but i was not ready for it (i didn't bring enough money). after that we went to my best friend's place and watched a movie. when she left, my friend liked her as well. he had been depressed for a while over his ex who dumped him. i said go for it, i won't mind. so i set the date up. called her and said let's meet at my friend's place. she went but i did not. was that the right choice to make? letting him have the girl?

Zid Alcast agony auntthey got drunk and made out. the next time i saw her was at a new years party and they tried to talk about relationship. in the end they didn't agree to continue. then i had to get my drunk friend home. he's better now. he found a different girl.

dirtball agony auntSo, you lured her to your friends house under false pretense? I can't imagine that went well for him. It was likely very awkward. Or are you telling us that he went for it and it worked out?

If you weren't that interested, then it was a nice gesture of friendship, but I'd be concerned that you'd be setting him up for failure. She was coming to see YOU after all, not him, so when you weren't there...
