writes: Was it abusive that my ex wouldn't do counseling with me since I think he was emotionally abusive and we argued all the time? He just said he thought I was bipolar, and until I got on medicine he wouldn't consider counseling. I feel like this was just another way he blamed all the relationship problems on me. He said that I must be the problem since I had never had a long term relationship until him. However, he was ten years older than me (34) and even though he had several long term relationships, it wasn't like he was still with them! Was he emotionally abusive to me? Never wanting to talk about issues that bothered me?
