I agree with the others, when you are older a couple of years age gap is no big deal, but at your age it means he is on a whole different level to you. He is an adult now going to Uni but you are still a teenager attending school, The best thing for both off you would be if you just remained friends.

I think, considering he is going to be leaving in a few months for University, and considering you are still under the age of consent, and considering you are good friends I think you need to let this crush be what it is for now, a crush ... and let the person in question concentrate on University and all that entails. In a few years time the age gap wont be quite so bad, and if you still feel the same, and if he isn't in a relationship and still comes back to his home town where you remain good friends, that will be the time for the confession.

He's about to be an adult, which sadly means he's too old for you and would get in a lot of trouble if he dated you.
Stick to guys your own age or only a year older. If you feel they're too immature, you know why you like this guy, but he is too old for you.
OP, I know you have a big crush on him, but he'll want more from a relationship than you should give at your age. Please let it go and wait until you find someone your own age that you have a crush on.
